The Original HotMess and NAHA Army invite you to “Beggers & Choosers” on Saturday August 8, 2009 at Chop Suey featuring:
hey willPower
hey willpower was formed by Will Schwartz (one of the “queer alt-rockers” Imperial Teen) and San Francisco musician Tomo Yasuda (of The Boy Explodes), started the project to explore their mutual interest in dance, pop and R&B music, which they had no outlet for in their other projects. After gigging for several years, sharing the bill with the likes of Peaches, Le Tigre and Scissor Sisters to name a few, they released Singles for “Double Fantasy II” and “Hundredaire” to much fan fare, with music video clips directed by the band’s own Justin Kelly. If you missed their last Seattle appearance, you definitely missed out! Don’t make the same mistake twice!

Awakened by the pulsing currents of electro ghosts of the 80’s, The Break Up’s sound can be found in addictive synths, beats and melodies; songs about inevitable break ups, regrets, dreams, floating rope walks and machines. The Break Up’s sound was first dreamed up by Shane under the grey skies of 2008, in Seattle, Washington. The Break Up is composed and programmed by Shane Allen Hall, with vocals and lyrics by SeVeRiNA X SoL and produced by Jasyn Bangert of GodModule.
Along with a host of DJs: NAHA, LA Kendall, Schlage, Mathematix, MC and Anton Bomb.
Tickets are $8 in advance and $12 day of show. Advance tickets are also available www.ticketweb.com.
