First Gay on the King County Council?

It looks like it could happen and soon. Popular and openly gay State Senator Joe McDermott is in the running for the County Coucil seat vacated when Dow Constantine became King County Executive. Eleven people have said they could fill the seat for the one year remaining and McDermott is one of four that said they would also run for re-election when the term expires in 2011.
