Seattle Men’s Chorus Spring Concert is coming to McCaw Hall on April 10 & 11, 2010. The 30th Anniversary Season of Seattle Men’s Chorus welcomes in springtime as artistic director Dennis Coleman and assistant Eric Lane Barnes team up with amazing Latin LGBT director and producer, Eduardo Khawam. This show has it all and presents a vivid portrait of some of the best-loved Latin songs and dances with guest performances by some of the best Latin artists in the Pacific Northwest.
Bailadores de Bronce will join SMC on stage to accent select pieces, like the haunting song La Llorona, with the intricate footwork that often defines traditional Mexican folkloric dance. La Gordis, the glamorous host from Latin Night at Neighbours and Gallerias will accent the concerts with her own form of Latin spice–often described as “Cher mixed with a little Divine.” And long time chorus member/choreographer Christopher J. Anderson will infuse Latin movement and “sabor” into both large scale production numbers that involve the full 260+ chorus members, and some sexy sassy smaller numbers that involve fewer than a dozen chorus members.
Wow, this sounds like quite a concert with songs by everyone from Selena to Santana, and titles that include Besame Mucho and Livin’ La Vida Loca this concert is accessible and appealing to all audiences.
Eduardo Khawam is an amazing individual and leader in the LGBT Latin community. In his free time he writes the Chronicles of a Gay immigrant Blog. He has worked and collaborated with many celebrities including Donald Trump, Elton John, Raquel Welch, Ryan Seacrest, Nicole Kidman, Michael Douglas, Gene Hickman, Ron Howard, Tom Hanks, Demi Moore, Kevin Spacey, Billy Bush, Nancy O’Dell, Jaclyn Smith, Macaulay Culkin, Andy Garcia, Celia Cruz, Paulina Rubio, Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias, and Cirque du Soleil. Eduardo’s fundraising activities have raised over 15 million dollars for various charitable organizations across the United States.
