The 10th Annual Camp Ten Trees Dinner and Auction is coming on Saturday April 10, 2010. Titled “We’ve Got Friends ‘Round Here” the event at Seattle’s Westin Hotel celebrates the first ten years of Camp Ten Trees.
For the past ten years, Camp Ten Trees has been creating a loving and engaging youth camp environment for children and youth of LGBTQ communities and their allies ages 13 – 17. Whether LGBTQA-identified themselves or children of LGBTQ families, Camp Ten Trees campers come together to build community, experience the freedom to be themselves, and have fun!
Just like many other summer camps, Camp Ten Trees offers swimming, archery, nature hikes, boating, arts and crafts, and many other traditional camp activities. Unlike many other summer camps, Camp Ten Trees offers children and youth who are often marginalized an opportunity to build skills, make friends, and enjoy themselves in a place free of the isolation, invisibility, and sometimes even violence they experience elsewhere. Camp Ten Trees changes lives.
