Dining Out For Life is this Thursday, TODAY, April 29…Eat, Drink, and Save Lives

April 29, 2010• byMichael Strangeways

Dining Out For Life turns 17 this Thursday, April 29 (seems like just yesterday it was in middle school…) and dozens of your favorite eateries are participating in the annual event to raise money for Lifelong AIDS Alliance and its fight to help those living with AIDS. And while these businesses are generously donating a percentage of your bill to the cause, make sure you budget some extra money to contribute your own tax deductible donation before you leave the restaurant. And while many local Capitol Hill restaurants, cafes and bakeries are participating, including Bimbo’s, Broadway Grill, Cafe Presse, Deluxe, Linda’s, Olympia Pizza, Purr and Tango, there are also places to choose from all over the city from Snohomish County to South King County. Check out the website for all participating venues and double check to make sure they are going to be involved with the fundraiser at the time you wish to eat; some places are only donating proceeds during specific times of the day…It’s a great cause and since most of us eat out once a week anyway, might as well gorge/binge for a very worthy cause!

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
