But, you gotta justify our love…and answer THREE questions!
Yes, we have TWO tickets to give away for SIFF’s big Gay-La Gala Event, the screening of Casper Andreas’s romantic comedy, Violet Tendencies starring Mindy Cohn, happening Wednesday, June 9 at the Egyptian at 7pm with an after party event at Re-bar that includes nibbles and drink tickets. BUT, there is a catch…you have to answer some questions in order to win the prize! Here’s how it’s going to work…there will be THREE trivia questions, (all of them will have something to do either with this film, the director or the star, Mindy Cohn) and the first one will be in this post, to be followed by a SECOND question later today (sometime this afternoon/evening) and the third and final question will appear tomorrow (Tuesday) morning. Each question is WEIGHTED and how fast (and how accurately) you respond will determine the eventual winner. So, if Joe Blow is the first person to reply with the correct answer to the first question, he gets 10 points; Suzie Creamcheese, who was the second person to respond would get 9 points, and so on. (Any correct answers received from the 10th person down, would get 1 point.) And the same thing will go for questions 2 and 3. So if Joe Blow is first for Question 1, but the 6th person to respond with a correct answer to Question 2 and the 4th person with the correct answer to Question 3, he would have a total of 22 points. But, if Suzy Cheesecake is the 3rd correct answerer to Question 2 and the first for Question 3, she would have 27 and win the tickets…does this make sense? (The good thing about this system is, that if you’re fast on one answer and slow on another, you COULD still win…)If it doesn’t, then you’re out of luck, because I’m NOT explaining this again…ANYWAY, just be FAST and ACCURATE with your answers and send them to seattlegayscene@gmail.com with your NAME, (we’ll just use your first name, last initial), and you must be over 21 for this giveaway (the party is in a bar) and all local, state and federal rules and regulations apply. Question #1: Mindy Cohn, the star of Violet Tendencies, is of course best known to audiences from her role as Natalie Green from the long running (1979-1988) family sitcom, The Facts of Life but she is NOT the only icon from that era to appear in this film; another actor in Violet Tendencies also had huge show business success but more on the music side of the business, and like Mindy Cohn in the private school set world of The Facts of Life, this actor was ALSO required to wear a uniform while performing on stage and in front of the camera…Name the actor AND what he was famous for performing in back in the late 70’s/early 80’s.
The next question will be HARDER, (and up sometime later today) and the third question will be HELLISH…(but only for people who don’t know how to use Wikipedia or IMDB…) As for anyone who DOESN’T want to play the game, but DOES want to see the film, head over to the SIFF website to get your tickets…if you just want to see the film, it’s $13, ($11 for members) and if you want the whole package, then it’s $25 for film and after party, ($23 for members).
