Here’s a few options for your Friday night fun…and thankfully, the sun is back!
Don’t get mad; get GLAAD and help them out tonight at their big fundraiser at Purr tonight from 7pm to 9pm. Yes, it’s a bit pricy but it’s for a good cause; GLAAD does focus their spotlight on the GOOD and the BAD when it comes to LGBT representation in the media…SOMEONE’S got to do it!
Balagan Theatre and Joss Whedon should be a good mix as the Capitol Hill theater company brings the “Buffy” creator’s Internet musical, “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog” to life beginning tonight and running Thursdays through Sundays until September 4. According to their Facebook page, tonight and tomorrow are sold out, but you can get tickets for the rest of the run; smells like a hot, hit show. Mr Whedon and “Dr Horrible” have LEGIONS of loyal fans so it might be a case where you had better book your tickets NOW or you’ll miss out.
For club scene fans, the “NX” aka, Northern Exposure is a must see weekend event with events all over town in an effort to raise money for Lambert House, the resource center for LGBT youth. Valkyrie Queer will be happening at Wildrose; MuscleUp! at the Eagle and there’ll be a Buxom/Beefy Bonfire at Alki to kick things off. Sounds like hot, sweaty fun…for a good cause.
