Mr Strangeways hangs his head in shame that it’s so late, but in his defense, he stayed up WAAAAAAY too late playing the evil game, Civilization…
LGBT community still furious with Target over donations to right-wing, anti-gay politician. Boycotts and protests continue with HRC getting involved but I just have to say that, in my opinion, these kinds of boycotts are a bit dumb. EVERY corporation in this country gives money to BOTH sides of the political spectrum, though obviously a conservative company is going to give MORE to conservative candidates and same thing with more liberal companies. It’s called hedging your bet; you want to have a little pull in your state capitol or D.C. despite which political party is in power. Target has been a very liberal company over the years and given millions to progressive social causes including LGBT issues. One slip-up shouldn’t damn them forever. Also, I don’t hear many calls for queer viewers to stop watching Fox television programs despite the fact that Fox just gave a ton of money to elect Republican governors. Doesn’t that mean that we should call for a boycott of “Glee” this year? After all, “Glee” is on Fox. Somehow, I don’t see this happening, or getting very far off the ground if someone proposes it…
ChristWire.org has published an article, “Is My Husband GAY?” and the Huffington Post isn’t sure if it’s “real” or satire but it sure is funny…My favorite tell-tale sign is #6: He’s “Sassy, Sarcastic And Ironic Around His Friends” which is the perfect description for Stephen Colbert so maybe he really is gay…
On the local news front, the Capitol Hill Blog is reporting that a new disco is moving to the Hill. It’s called “Q” and it SOUNDS pretty gay but in reality, it seems a lot more likely to be another g-damned watering hole for vapid, straight suburbanites to swan around in on weekend nights…I’m seeing lots of under dressed young women in skimpy outfits looking very cold as they leap out of their boyfriend’s Escalade and dash into the club. Not very hopeful about this, I’m afraid.
Happy Friday and Happy Birfdays to Teen Queen, (not really a clue as to what she does, but I’m quite old) Demi Lovato is “legal” for ogling; she’s turning 18! Also, the very adorable actress Amy Adams is 36 and for the millions of “Buffy, the Vampire Slayer” fans out there, skinny, punk vampire Spike (and past Seattlite) James Marsters is 48…but, vampires never really age, do they?
