Washington State had a primary yesterday. Nothing really exciting happened except The Stranger, upon seeing Dino Rossi at his “victory” party commented that the tiny, orange Republican Senate candidate looks like a male version of Snooki…well, they ARE both Italian. Personally, I think he’s closer to an Oompa-Loompa…
The Prez was is town raising money for Dems…That, too, wasn’t very exciting except for the Sonic Booms caused by military aircraft and the traffic snarls caused by the Presidential motorcade. Sadly, Capitol Hill icon Boe Odyssey wasn’t asked to perform a dance routine for the President.
Aerosmith dude and scary old singer Steven Tyler is joining “American Idol” as a new judge to replace Simon Cowell. Ten year old Courtney Bruner and her 63 year old grandma Joyce Van Kirk both breath a sigh of relief that their favorite show will “just get better and better!” The rest of America could give a sh*t about a show that stopped being culturally relevant four years ago…
Conservative hairbag/pundit/stick insect Ann Coulter in deep doodoo from conservatives because she’s going to speak at a gay Republican event. Ann might lose some street cred in mainstream Republican circles but she will be VERY popular in certain households in Palm Springs and can always count on a spare couch to crash on for Dinah Shore weekend…
Happy Birfdays to old pervert/great movie director Roman Polanski (77), rather wooden actor/slightly better director/even better film festival founder Robert Redford (74) and recent SIFF honoree/overrated actor/ex-boyfriend of Courtney Love, Edward Norton who turns 41. And speaking of Courtney, her (and Kurt’s) offspring Frances Bean Cobain turns 18 and is completely free to avoid her nutty mother for the rest of their lives! Run, Frances, RUN!!!

Nothing "exciting" to YOU may have happened in the primary but it did not look good around most of the state.
It appears that many Dem's around the state garnered less than 50% including the Eastside and in key swing districts such as Kent's 47th.
Not as bad as 1994 but remember in 1994 the Dem's actually did worse in the general election than the primary which almost never happens.
Since there were more than two candidates in many races I will wait till after the general election to break down the individual races.
Oh, Bill…always with the half-empty glass.
If things get really shitty in November, we'll just pull up stakes and start British Columbia Gay Scene…
