Winners and losers…Lots of primary elections were held yesterday in several states including Alaska, Florida and Arizona. Irritating old man, John McCain easily wins his primary and advances to face Democratic challenger Rodney Glassman in the November General Election. Irritating young man, Ben Quayle, the son of former VP Dan Quayle also wins his primary and advances as well; hopefully young Quayle is a better speller than his pop…In Alaska it looks like the Sarah Palin endorsed Joe Miller has defeated the incumbent (and Palin rival) Lisa Murkowski…this is VERY irritating. Meanwhile in Florida, a transgendered candidate named Donna Milo LOSES but, it’s ok because she is a Republican that is opposed to gay marriage and gay adoption…this is NOT irritating!
The BBC has announced plans to broadcast “Anna Nicole: The Opera” early in 2011. Yes, it’s an opera based on the life of the notorious Anna Nicole Smith and it’s from the creators of “Jerry Springer: The Opera” which was surprisingly well-received when it premiered in 2005. “Anna Nicole” has its premiere at Covent Garden on February 11, 2011 and the Royal Opera House is calling it:
The Royal Opera House is billing Anna Nicole as “a celebratory story of our times that includes extreme language, drug abuse and sexual content”.
Well, D’UH! More importantly, when will we see the Re-bar production of this sure to be epic work? Dina Martina would make a BRILLIANT Anna Nicole!
I’m tempted to axe the “Happy Birfday” segment since the copycat Stranger has jumped on the bandwagon, but since I can’t claim to have INVENTED the concept, I’ll grouchily and bitterly continue it…Let’s give warm Birfday greetings to the very, very delicious Alexander Skarsgård and his delightfully perky Swedish abs; they are turning 34! Claudia Schiffer and her Germanic bod are efficiently turning 40. And, ultimate Daddy I’d Like to Fraternize With, Sean Connery and his awesome mat of chestal hair is turning 80 years young today…but, we’ll remember him as he was in his prime circa “Goldfinger” days…Here’s some naughtyesque pictures of Mr Connery…site is somewhat NSFW!
