What’s not to love about the Wild Rose? Seattle’s one and only Lesbian bar never ceases to serve up entrées of hot local talent, delightful pub fare, and even better drinks. Last Saturday, I was fortunate enough to spill into the last floor-thumping vestiges of the Zodiac party, featuring DJ Mixxtress and DJ Lady Jane, and boy did they kill it. Remember that epic house party ALL your friends are still talking about ten years later? The one you missed because you were recovering from getting your wisdom teeth pulled, or had to console your best friend because she broke up with some jerk? Last Saturday at the Wild Rose was that party. If you didn’t make it, I mourn your loss. Parties like that come once, maybe twice in a lifetime, right?
WRONG.
Remember when I said the Rose never ceases to serve it up? This Saturday, September 11 they will furnish yet another sweaty testament to the richness of Seattle’s queer nightlife. From 9pm-2am, one of Seattle’s hardest-working homos takes over the decks at the Rose. L.A. Kendall, pictured, (of Hot Mess, Hard Times, and Luxury A.K. fame) steps up to the plate to deliver all the sweet music you need to stir your mind, booty, and soul. If you missed her at Chapel this past Saturday, don’t leave your funk out in the cold a second time. House, Hip-Hop, Classic R&B cuts, all will be represented, even requests will be taken. What better way to kick the night into high-gear after the Patsy Cline tribute show?
