We’ve been closely following the story about the closing of Capitol Hill institution, C.C. Attle’s the beloved “bearish” bar at 15th and Madison that is slated for demolition and redevelopment. Capitol Hill Blog has been extensively covering the story and recently reported that the bar is closing TODAY, Thursday, September 30 but have plans to move to an as yet undisclosed location. Chris Daw on the Facebook page for C.C.’s hints that the annoucement could be made VERY SOON, so we’ll keep on top of that. But, wherever they move, we’ll miss the old location like a mother… There was something very warm, and inviting, and cozy about that low slung little cabin bar and its wrap around decks that made the place seem homey and comforting. The developers have some exciting and enviro-friendly plans for the site, but it’s still kind of a bitter day for the gay men of Seattle as they say goodbye to one of those bars where, “everyone knew your name…”
But, you can wash away that bitterness and come say good-bye to the old place today and tonight and give it the send-off it deserves. It’s ok to get a bit drunkie boots tonight, (as long as you don’t drive) and send the old boy off with a flourish. Think of it as New Year’s in September…
