Lick!, the monthly music/dance event for “dykes, trannies, fags and friends” is beside itself with glee that they get to bring “Men” to Chop Suey for this month’s edition. “Men” is the exciting multi-discipline band/art/performance collective founded by Le Tigre members JD Samson and Johanna Fateman. It later merged with ANOTHER project of Samson’s, HIRSUTE that also included Michael O’Neill and Ginger Brooks Takahashi and the group continues to focus on: “…the energy of live performance and radical potential of dance music. MEN speaks to issues such as wartime economies, sexual compromise, and demanding liberties through lyrical content and an exciting stage show.” Also, they are AWESOME!
To add to the fun, DJ’s Mathematix and General Meow are doing their groove thing and the whole night is also a big celebration for the release of Hard Times Zine. More awesomeness…and it’s going down at Chop Suey this Friday night starting at 9pm and advance tickets are only $5!!! Get them HERE!
