The staff of Seattle Gay Scene workin’ hard to make this site even gayer than it already is… |
In case you haven’t heard, we are making some changes at Seattle Gay Scene that include moving from Blogger to WordPress and a brand new look and feel to the site. The VERY colorful new masthead/logo is one of the prototypes we’ve been working on…what do y’all feel about it? Is it too much? Too “cartoony” or just the right amount of sassy fun? We would LOVE to hear what you think…don’t be scared to comment down below or shoot us an email.
AND, what would you like to SEE on the site? More news? More pop culture/gossipy crap? LESS pop culture/gossipy crap? Less beefcake, or more beefcake? Full frontal nudity? (kidding) Is there something you’d like to see covered that’s NOT being covered? I know I’d like to have better coverage on Women’s events…didja all know that our #1 page for pageviews is the Lesbian calendar? By a HUGE margin…it’s very obvious that the Lady Loving Ladies of Seattle are starved for information on women-centric events. We’re STILL looking for a writer, (preferably a Lady Loving Lady, obviously) to cover those kinds of stories…shoot us an email if anyone is interested. (And, FYI, we are ALWAYS looking for people who want to contribute something…ideas, tips, stories, articles, columns, photos, art, videos…we can’t pay you, (yet) but if you’re looking to do something fun, or just have a good idea, let us know!)
Oh, and hopefully we’ll have a smooth transition when we move the site over…we’ll give you a heads-up when it’s going to happen. Tentatively, I’m thinking the first week in November, but who knows…could be sooner. AND, the change in formats might help some of you who have issues with reading the site on your phones/portable devices. We want to resolve that issue for folks since so many people now get their web content this way. And, for folks who have had issues with the site crashing, we think it might be one of the add ons that causes this and we are investigating. But, I will say that I would occasionally have that issue but since I switched from the puketastic Explorer 9 to Chrome, I have NOT had those problems. (Have you experienced Explorer 9? I know it’s still in Beta, but it’s a HUGE piece of caca….I loaded it and IMMEDIATELY had some serious issues and went and installed Chrome and things have been great so far…I bow down to our Google Overlords…)
One last thing. We have an exciting new columnist joining us soon and it’s someone you all know, or should know, or someone you’ve seen at LGBTQ events…I think you will be pleased. I know I am. You’re going to love…them. (No, it’s not Boe Odyssey, the scarf-dancer/hippie man.)
