It’s Satuday, October 2 and you haven’t made evening plans…you have a buttload of options:
1)We make no bones about it: we love Sylvia O’Stayformore and we love her monthly “Bacon Strip” show at Re-bar and since this month’s Bacon Strip theme is iconic filmmaker/trashmeister John Waters and we ADORE him, we think this might be an awesome night of frivolity and filth. Also: BACON!
2)Lick! is also a beloved monthly event at Chop Suey and it sorta sucks it happens the same night as Bacon Strip so we either advise you to alternate months attending each, or pop into both if you can… And, this month’s theme is “HOMOcoming” and for queer folk who might not have had much fun at their original high school event it sounds like hella fun and a great opportunity to actually enjoy a homecoming event…also, who doesn’t love tacky decorations and the chance to dress up? But, hopefully someone doesn’t go all “Carrie” on us…please don’t pour blood on the HOMOcoming Queen and King.
3)Cherdonna & Lou are an awesome addition to local cabaret stages and they’ve become big favorites for hip, Capitol Hill types who enjoy a little drag o’riffic entertainment that manages to be both entertaining AND artistically valid. The dynamic duo are debuting a brand new show at Century Ballroom that started last night and runs weekends through October 16. If drunken crowds aren’t your thing, then this is definitely a must-see show…if you DO love drunken revelries at Re-bar or Chop Suey then book your tix for Cherdonna & Lou for an upcoming show.
