“The Cheap Ass Halloween Spectacular” is for lovers of all things ghoulish and kinda queer and it’s at Re-Bar this coming Saturday, Oct 27!

Fever Break…NOT the Starland Vocal Band.

I’ve been given a lovely pardon for tooting my own horn. But, fortunately, The Tickled Pink Players is a shared umbrella, so I’m not sweating over writing this preview what-so-ever…

If you’re a fanatic of tremendously colourful local music, or find any interest in the bored wives of diamond mine owners, The Tickled Pink Players are pleased to offer unto you a Halloween smash(a-basha) that is certain to keep you rich in the bank, and mentally stimulated in a slightly off-kilter sort of fashion. Last year’s surprise success with “The Cheap Ass X-Mas Spectacular!” at the Rendezvous has paved the way for another offering of holiday trash, this time with “The Cheap Ass Halloween Spectacular!”, hosting a brilliant local line-up all hosted by yours truly (Aiden Karamanyan, or A.T.’n’.T, “Aiden the Trainwrecki’N’ Tranny) on the lovely Re-Bar stage come Saturday, October 30th.

Gonken, I Am

Our serving of bands are diverse, but all equally zany, and wildly original. Local favourite Gonken, I Am is our special guest artist, new to the Tickled Pink family, though very familiar to the local music scene. “Old” favourites Dos Boys (winner of the 2003 Las Vegas Comedy Festival) and Fever Break (featuring Tonjia Atomic, co-founder of the Tickled Pink Players, AND the Seattle Gay Scene’s very own Casey Sagisi) round up the musical spectrum, and are guaranteed to dish out plenty of laughs with their clever lyrics, and spoofs on old standards.

To top it off, we have two phenomenal guests also in tow: “Puppet This”, local improv and puppeteer artist Rachel Jackson will give us a festive treat, featuring.. well.. puppets! Her most recent credits also include a stellar performance in the Annex Theatre’s “Alecto: Issue 1”, and other regular appearances at their “Spin-The-Bottle” events. And for the first time ever on a Seattle stage, Mrs. Diamond McDiamondson (wife of diamond mine owner, McDermont McDiamondson) will regail audiences of her humorous tales of being an extra in the movie “Big”, and also throw some added spice to the trashy ordeal with a song about her favourite food group: potato salad.

Your hostess…with the mostest.

The deal… and it’s a big one… is the show only costs 3 bucks to get into. That’s it! As a special bonus, if you purchase your tickets in advance through Brown Paper Tickets, you save ONE WHOLE CENT on your admission price! THAT’S RIGHT! It’s only $2.99 to get into the show. How’s THAT for keeping you afloat in this rough and tumble economy? Walmart can eat our shorts! Again, the show is on October 30th, starts at 7:30 p.m. (doors at 7 p.m.), will be delighting at the Re-Bar (1114 Howell Street)… which does mean that our younger fans will have to miss out as it’s a 21+ gig.

Dos Boys…in Mexico, do they bill themselves as “Two Niños”?

See you there, eh? Opa!

– Aiden Karamanyan

(Editor’s Note: I’m Michael Strangeways, and I approve this blatant plugging and horn tooting of a contributor’s event. Also, very deeply hurt I wasn’t asked to contribute my fantastic version of “Trouble” from the musical “The Music Man”….it’s FAAAAAAR better than Chris Frizzelle’s!)
