Joe McDermott close to winning King County Council seat

November 3, 2010• bySeattle Gay Scene

Joe McDermott is crushing with over 67% of the vote in his race to become the first openly gay King County Council member. But with 32% of the vote, challenger Diana Toledo remains optimistic.

Joe joined the Washington State Senate in 2007 after serving for seven years in the House of Representatives. He was one of six openly gay members of the Washington state legislature.

Congratulations to Joe in his big win! Let's see him put some of that Olympia know-how to work getting King County on track!
Mrs Toledo sounds like a good person with real concern for the inner workings of King County, perhaps she can be tapped by Constantine to head up Records and Licensing. She sounds qualified and it may be a good fit for her in the event that politics isn't really her passion.
