The Rally to Restore Sanity was a great idea. As a few thousand people stood in the rain at Westlake Center, listening to comedians, and music that sounded like Friday night at the Cuff, we witnessed the crowd, and I do mean CROWD, basking in the sunshine in Washington DC. There were hundreds of thousands of people filling up what’s referred to as the mall (no shopping happening there) while Steven Colbert and Jon Stewart used humor to point out the obvious. “We’re sick of the media’s opinionated reporting.. Just because you’re the loudest doesn’t mean you’re right… Take that fear and shove it…You are not a moron, I am not a moron, we simply have different opinions” and on and on.
It was refreshing to be with a group of people who carried signs saying things like, “I have to be home at 2:00” “Humpty Dumpty was pushed”. I’m glad I went. It’s always good to know that you’re not the only one who thinks the world has gone mad!
