Sadly, Oscar 2012 gets first member for “In Memoriam” segment: Icon Jane Russell dies at 89.

The image and film that made her a star: Jane Russell in the Howard Hughes directed film, "The Outlaw".

The lovely and busty star of The Outlaw and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, actress Jane Russell has passed away at age 89. Well known to classic film fans, she might be best known for Gen X’ers who grew up with her commercials for Playtex bras. The zexy, zexy star never earned a lot of respect for her acting, but her curvy beauty and friendly personality earned her legions of devoted fans. And, if outer beauty is determined by inner beauty, Ms Russell must have been a lovely person…here’s a photo of her from a couple years ago…Well into her 80’s, she looked amazing.
