“Sexually Omnivorous” Storm Large hits The Triple Door September 8.

August 26, 2011• byBrian Peterson

Storm Large is scheduled for "An Evening with Storm Large" at The Triple Door on Thursday, September 8th in Seattle, Washington

Storm Large is a talented singer and songwriter that is beloved by hundreds of people for her message in her music, her strength in her vocals and the sensations she gives you that everything is going to be mighty fine in the end. Born Susan Storm Large is rural Southborough, Massachusetts, Large has been entertaining audiences for more than 15 years. She is most infamously known for being a finalist on the CBS Reality Show “Rockstar: Supernova”.

She graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City in 1989. After graduating she moved to San Francisco and become involved with music and drug scene; she says that music is what got her out of the drug scene and she tells that story in her one-woman show, Crazy Enough.

Large is compelling to watch, a naturally mesmerising, electric performer. And despite all the angst in her life she’s a joyful presence to spend an hour with. A skilled wordsmith too, though much of her dialogue is unashamedly sweary she has a great way with descriptions and depictions. One particular favourite was analogy of the state of her 41-year-old uterus as being like the dusty, haunted room in which she’s playing in the Underbelly.

-Marissa Burgess, Chortle, UK Comedy Guide

While booking her regular evening entourage concerts, she has been busy taking her one-woman show to mark her Austrailian Premiere in June 2011. This past July, Storm Large was asked to replace the vocalist of Pink Martini, China Forbes, for their European “The Symphonique Tour” (United Kingdom, France and Ireland). What’s next for Large? She is working on her autobiography book which is set to be released in January 2012 by Simon & Schuster.

I always hoped we could find a way to collaborate. She is a brilliant, beautiful, charismatic and seductive star who would give Jayne Mansfield a run for her money. While we are disappointed that China is unable to perform with us, I am delighted be able to introduce Storm Large to European audiences.

-Thomas Lauderdale, Pink Martini Bandleader & Pianist

Large has performed in regional theater shows along the west coast in Portland, Los Angeles and in New York City.

Large has performed with Pink Martini, John Doe, Rufus Wainwright, Darcelle XV, George Clinton, Katey Sagal and Eric McFadden, to name a few. Before moving to Portland, Oregon in 2002, she hailed the alleys and underground clubs in San Francisco for 13 years with her bands: Storm, Inc., Storm and her Dirty Mouth, and FlowerSF. When she moved to Portland in 2002, she had planned to give up music and attend Culinary School, but was persuaded by her friends, and the club owner of Dante’s Inferno, Frank Faillace, to take the stage again and to continue her rock and roll career with her new band “The Balls”. Storm Large is bisexual but she hates that terminology and prefers to be called, “sexually omnivorous”.

“An Evening with Storm Large” is set for Thursday, September 8th, 2011 at 7:30pm at The Triple Door. Tickets are $20 in advance, or $25 day of show and they are selling fast. Visit The Triple Door’s website or call 206.838.4333 for more details and information on tickets.
