It’s official: Jinkx Monsoon is the new host for “Le Faux”

October 19, 2011• bySeattle Gay Scene

Jinkx Monsoon climbs the ladder of drag success as the new host of Le Faux.

It’s been the worst kept secret on the Hill for the last couple of weeks; we’ve already discussed it more than once, and it was announced at Bacon Strip AND at Le Faux last weekend,  but Le Faux, the weekend drag celebrity show at Julia’s on Broadway officially announced today that beloved rising starlet Jinkx Monsoon, aka Jerick Hoffer is the new host for Le Faux replacing the beloved Mama Tits aka Brian Daniel Peters, who moves on to the new hot night, “ElektroPOP” at The Baltic Room. Mama’s last official Le Faux is next Friday, Oct 28 and Ms Monsoon assumes her duties starting Friday, November 11, 2011.

We’ve known that this was in the works for quite awhile and we think it’s an exciting new direction for both Le Faux and for Jinkx. Le Faux is a Vegas style drag show and Jinkx is a Broadway style performer…it could be exciting to see how they mesh. It’ll also be interesting to see how Le Faux’s audience reacts…the typical Le Faux audience is not LGBTQ. Will straight audiences embrace a young queen who doesn’t really do celebrity impersonations, sings live instead of lip sync, and prefers Sondheim to Cher? Time will tell.

(Fans of Jerick Hoffer’s ACTING abilities need not worry…we hear Mr. Hoffer has a big role coming up next year; once we know more and have the ok to talk about it, we’ll get you the skinny on those details. And, we’re thrilled that Jerick is pursuing both tracks of his career. We adore Jinkx, but Jerick is pretty amazing as well.)

For fans of press releases, here ya go!

An Evening at Le Faux has entertained audiences for over five years at Julia’s on Broadway, with an amazing cast, and array of fabulous guests performing on our stage.  Since the show’s beginning, we’ve also had extremely talented hosts. We’re excited to announce our newest host, Jinkx Monsoon!
Jerick Hoffer – Jinkx Monsoon – recently graduated from Cornish College of the Arts with a degree in theater with an emphasis in musical performance.  Jinkx has entertained audiences all over Portland, Oregon and Seattle.   Jinkx also has music videos which have been watched by thousands.
Jinkx is very well known in Seattle.  She will bring a whole new level of entertainment to Le Faux, which already has a bevy of brilliant performers.  Jinkx, who will be singing live, has been hard at work rehearsing brand-new numbers.

Robbie Turner, who has been with Le Faux since its inception says, “Jinkx Monsoon is the whole package.  Bright, funny & talented.  She’s going to fit into the Le Faux scene seamlessly”.    Turner added, “I’m very excited to work with her, been looking forward to it for a LONG time! Finally”

Le Faux Director adds, “We know Jinkx’s arrival will excite past and future Le Faux fans.  We’re excited to have them come watch what Jinkx is going to debut at Le Faux, and  the other new numbers that we’re premiering. “

Jinkx will begin hosting duties at An Evening at Le Faux on Friday, November 11, 2011.
Tickets are available through www.lefauxshow.com, and show time is 10pm.  Dinner Reservations are available before the show, by calling (206)334-0513.
