From the site Poliglot and John Riley:
The Maryland Senate passed HB 438, a bill legalizing marriage equality in the Free State, by a 25-22 margin after its third reading Thursday afternoon, sending the measure to Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) for his signature into law.
O’Malley, who has made the bill part of his 2012 legislative agenda, has vowed to sign the bill.
Kudos to Maryland as it becomes the 8th state to pass Marriage Equality…though, actually that’s not totally true…the New Jersey statehouse passed it last week only to have their lumpen governor, Chris Christie veto it…and, of course California did the same until Prop 8 came along.
STILL, IT’S PROGRESS!!! 42 STATES TO GO!
