Sadness: Morrissey’s Mum Is Ill And His Tour Is Postponed

October 26, 2012• bySeattle Gay Scene

Sad news for beloved singer Morrissey and his fans. The singer/song writer and former front man for The Smiths was to hit the Pacific Northwest for a number of appearances in November, including a stop at The Moore in Seattle, but an illness in his family is putting a halt to his tour…for the time being. Seattle Theatre Group just released this announcement from Morrissey:

All remaining dates on the current US Tour have been postponed – but not cancelled – as Morrissey has returned to England where his mother has been hospitalized and is unwell. Due to issues with his mother’s health, Morrissey will need to remain by her side during this difficult period.

Those who have already purchased tickets for all upcoming dates are highly encouraged to hold on to their tickets and look out for the rescheduled dates. The new dates will be announced shortly.

Morrissey would like to thank everyone for their understanding and patience as the shows are being prepared for a swift reschedule.

Wishing Morrissey and his mum health and wellness…and, as for fans of the singer, keep your chip up. The singer is beloved for his mopey songs so this little disappointment should be fuel to your angst-y fire. Have a good cry, curled up in your bed, and listen to your favorite sad Moz song tonight.
