Seattle Gay Scene is media sponsoring both the screening and after party for CLUB KING the Mario Diaz documentary screening at the 2014 Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival.

Our friends over at Three Dollar Bill Cinema have released the list of films for the upcoming 19th annual Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival which runs October 9 – 19 and features dozens of queer films screening at multiple locations with buttloads of terrific parties to attend and some very special guests including Greg Louganis, Alec Mapa, Matthew Lillard, Mario Diaz and many other filmmakers.

Tickets and passes are now on sale HERE and the complete line-up and schedule are out.

It also takes a village of able bodied gay folk to put on a festival of this size so you are strongly encouraged to VOLUNTEER your time to help out. There’s an open house event for volunteers for this year’s Festival happening this Saturday, September 20 from Noon to 1 pm at Seattle Central Community College Room 4106, (1701 Broadway, Capitol Hill, Seattle. Please enter the main building on the Broadway side and take the central elevator to the 4th floor. Then follow the signs to room 4106.)

Here’s more info about volunteering:

Volunteers earn movie vouchers for each shift that they complete. We have shifts for everyone! We need ushers, party assistants, photographers, box office assistants, and operational support.

Our festival is October 9th-19th.

If you are interested in signing up please fill out our online application here: http://www.threedollarbillcinema.org/participate/volunteer

And, here’s the info packed press release with MORE skinny about this year’s festival:

This year SLGFF will screen  films: 51 features and 112 shorts representing 32 countries, including 30 Northwest premieres, 5 West Coast premieres, and a world premiere. The festival will open with the previously announced Seattle premiere of Cheryl Furjanic’s BACK ON BOARD with film subject and groundbreaking Olympic diver Greg Louganis in attendance, and close with Susanna Fogel’s LIFE PARTNERS starring Leighton Meester and Gillian Jacobs. The lineup also includes the World Premiere of  IN THE TURN, a new documentary directed by Erica Tremblay. The 2014 Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival is produced by Three Dollar Bill Cinema.

“It’s my first year as the SLGFF Festival Director overseeing the programming of the festival, and I’m really excited to share this slate of incredible films with people,” says Kathleen Mullen. “We’re really proud of the diversity of stories and the local and international filmmakers and guests that will attend to introduce their films. I’m ready to celebrate with Seattle film fans!”

This year’s films feature a star-studded lineup including, Patrick Stewart (STAR TREK) and Matthew Lillard (FAT KID RULES THE WORLD, THE DESCENDANTS) in MATCH; Mo’Nique in BLACKBIRD (in her first major role since PRECIOUS); Leighton Meester (GOSSIP GIRL) and Gillian Jacobs (COMMUNITY) in LIFE PARTNERS; Gaby Hoffman (GIRLS) in Tacoma-native Steward Thorndyke’s LYLE; and Robin Williams’ daughter Zelda Williams in NEVER with Zachary Booth (KEEP THE LIGHTS ON).

“This films this year are outstanding,” says Three Dollar Bill Cinema Director Jason Plourde, “with much of our strongest work from female and queer directors. There’s films that represent a wide variety of the LGBT community and will be entertaining for all.”

In advance of the festival, on October 2, SLGFF will also host a benefit screening of the Pacific Northwest premiere of PRIDE, winner of the Queer Palm prize at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. All ticket sale proceeds will go towards Three Dollar Bill Cinema.

Festival Box Office opens September 18 at 9am at http://www.threedollarbillcinema.org/programs/SLGFF
