It’s happening as I type….and, maybe, as you read this.

If you’re reading it between 11:30 am and 3 pm on May 1, 2016….

May Day! Drag to the Rescue! A dog adoption and fundraising event to benefit Ginger’s Pet Rescue, hosted by Seattle’s own Sylvia O’Stayformore with the help from her friends is happening down in the International District at the Theatre Off Jackson, 409 7th Ave. S (oddly enough, just off of Jackson!) from 12 noon to 3:00 pm. And, for Capitol Hill folks, you have two ways to get there now! Either via the new trolley linking the Hill with the I.D. OR via the just opened light rail station!

You have no excuses not to attend…

If you’re in the market for a furry friend, Ginger’s Pet Rescue will be there WITH adorable furry creatures you can adopt. If you’d just like to check it out and support this amazing organization, then just show up. It’s a FREE event but please bring SOME money to donate to a great cause. There will be an auction and a drag show with Sylvia plus guests like Empress of the Cosmos, DonnaTella Howe and the very sainted Bobbi Jo Blessings.

Some more poo:

Seattle, WA: On May 1st, Sylvia O’Stayformore will host “May Day! Drag to the Rescue!”, a dog adoption fair and fundraiser to benefit Ginger’s Pet Rescue. This event will be held at the Theatre Off Jackson, at 409 7th Ave S., Seattle, WA 98104, from 12:00 – 3:00 PM Sunday, May 1, 2016.

Sylvia O’Stayformore and Drag to the Rescue LLC are thrilled to be presenting this adoption event and fundraiser for Ginger’s Pet Rescue. A meet-and-greet with the dogs available for adoption will be held from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM. A silent auction to raise money for Ginger’s Pet Rescue will also be held during this time. All proceeds from the silent auction will go to Ginger’s Pet Rescue. Sylvia O’Stayformore will host a spectacular dog themed drag show in the 21 and over bar space of Theatre Off Jackson Upstairs Gallery from 1 PM – 2:30 PM. The adoption meet-and-greet, silent auction and drag show are free, however, we are also allowing for a suggested donation for this fun filled event of $5 – $20.

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
