Joey Arias Returns To Seattle’s Triple Door April 5th

March 6, 2023• byMichael Strangeways
The one and only Joey Arias returns to Seattle’s Triple Door on June 17, 2015

Beloved chanteuse JOEY ARIAS will return to their old stomping grounds for a delicious new show at The Triple Door on April 5th. It’s all part of a West Coast tour they’ve named STRANGE RESUME for the cabaret star known for collaborative work with Klaus Nomi and David Bowie among many others.

Over the years, Joey has spent considerable time in the Emerald City and was a frequent star at Re-bar among a galaxy of other cabaret superstars.

Joey will also pop into Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Palm Springs for this tour. Get more info about tour dates at https://www.instagram.com/joeyariasnyc/

After signing with Capital Records as a teenager and training at the Groundlings school in Los Angeles, Joey moved to New York City and landed his first job at the legendary, boundary pushing, fashion retailer Fiorucci. Following, Joey began collaborating with the likes of Klaus Nomi, David Bowie, Thierry Manfred Mugler, and Basil Twist. Thousands initiated to the sweet naive charm, the sharp as nails raucous humor and vocal power of Joey for the original cast of Cirque Do Soleil’s Zumanity in Las Vegas or commanding the room of Bard o’ in New York, his appearances in many films including Big Top Pee Wee, Flawless, to Wong Fu Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar or gracing the many jazz clubs, dance clubs, and stages around the world. Joey has recently been concentrating on his work in the recording studio as well as touring in the US and Europe.

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
