The Wildrose Turns 40!

December 30, 2024• byMichael Strangeways

And, they’re still kickin’ it! The Wildrose, Seattle’s oldest (and only) lesbian bar is celebrating a hugeass birfday this December 30th. The beloved lady loving lady bar is turning 40 years young at its 11th and Pike Street home on Seattle’s Capitol Hill. They’re throwing a big celebratory bash this Monday and invite everyone to come party with them as they enjoy this monumental anniversary and surviving as one of the few remaining queer women bars in the country…and, one actually owned by queer women!

The party starts at 6pm and “runs late” with DJ Summersoft on hand along with GoGo dancers. It’s only a $10 cover and obviously 21+ w/ID.

If you can’t make it on Monday the 30th then bop in on Tuesday, the 31st for their big New Year’s Eve Party with DJ Ricki Leigh!

Happy Anniversary, ‘rose!!!!

SALUD!

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
