Following a once-in-a-century storm, three women come back together to make sandwiches for neighbors who have been displaced. Together, despite their differences, they look for purpose in a time of uncertainty and try to support each other and those around them.
The SpongeBob Musical, Bainbridge Performing Arts, 5/2-18/25
When Bikini Bottom is threatened by the impending eruption of Mount Humongous, it’s up to SpongeBob and his friends to save the day. What follows is an explosion of color, music, and community as the citizens of the sea learn what really matters when everything’s at stake.

The Pa’akai We Bring, Seattle Children’s Theatre, 5/7/25–6/1/25
SCT is proud to host Honolulu Theatre for Youth in a one-of-a-kind experience steeped in history, culture, and healing. The Pa’akai We Bring follows multiple generations of salt farmers on Kauai, mixing in ancient stories, hula, live music, original songs, and plenty of audience participation into a tasty potluck of performance, joyously served up with aloha. Seattle Vice ’76: The Saga of Sin, Marxiano Prods., 5/8-18/25 (at The Triple Door)
It’s 1976, and Seattle’s infamous “tolerance policy”—the corrupt agreement between law enforcement, politicians, and vice industries—is crumbling. Strip clubs, gambling dens, and backroom deals fueled an empire along 1st Avenue, but reformers and investigative journalists are closing in. As ambition, rebellion, and exploitation collide, the city’s underbelly is thrust into the spotlight. (Dance, burlesque, adults only.)
Ordinary Days, SecondStory Repertory, 5/9-25/25
Follow the interconnected stories of four young adults in New York City as they navigate love, loss, and the search for meaning. With a fresh and contemporary score, the musical explores the idea that extraordinary moments can be found in the most ordinary of circumstances. It’s a show that reminds us that even in the midst of our busy lives, we are all searching for something more.
Betrayal, Theatre33, 5/9/25-6/1/25
What holds us together — love, loyalty, or something far more fragile? In Harold Pinter’s masterful play, the ordinary rhythms of human connection slowly unravel into something quietly devastating. Told in reverse — from the painful collapse of a relationship back to its delicate beginnings — Betrayal offers a piercing look at loneliness, memory, and the small, almost imperceptible moments that lead to rupture. In Pinter’s world, everything betrays everything.

Harry Milas, Australia’s leading slight-of-hand specialist, lifts the veil on the world of card cheating. During this hour-long experience, Harry will reveal the secrets behind the skill that saw him become a security weapon for the world’s top casinos. An intimate audience of 35 joins Harry as he reveals—step by step—how magicians, card cheaters, and mentalists fool the world. Part performance, part tutorial, Harry exposes many of the best tricks and illusions he knows. He’ll start you off easy, but as the show goes on, greater displays of card play unfold and exciting secrets are uncovered…
House of Joy, Seattle Public Theater and Pratidhwani, 5/16/25-6/8/25
In an Imperial Harem in a place like India in a time like 1666, Hamida, a bodyguard, wakes to the oppression in her midst and decides to do something about it. Seduction, skullduggery and swordplay in a mythic, swashbuckling action-romance for the ages!
Drinking Habits, Edmond’s Driftwood Players, 5/16/25-6/8/25
Accusations, mistaken identities, and romances run wild in this traditional, laugh-out-loud farce. Two nuns at the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing have been secretly making wine to keep the convent’s doors open, but Paul and Sally, reporters and former fiancées, are hot on their trail. They go undercover as a nun and priest, but their presence, combined with the addition of a new nun, spurs paranoia throughout the convent that spies have been sent from Rome to shut them down. Wine and secrets are inevitably spilled as everyone tries to preserve the convent and reconnect with lost loves.

Alice in Arabialand, Annex Theatre, 5/23/25-6/13/25 (world premiere)
Playwright Sameer Arshad introduces Rosalind, escaping from the dangers of her usurper uncle’s court, with her cousin Celia and comic courtier Touchstone. They seek refuge in the Forest of Arden with her father’s band of exiles. Disguised as Ganymede, Rosalind discovers love in the safety of the forest with her suitor, Orlando.
Something Rotten, Centerstage Theatre, 5/23/25-6/15/25
Nick and Nigel Bottom are brothers in England during the Renaissance. It’s a glorious time for the arts, and they lead a wildly successful acting troupe…or, at least, they could be wildly successful, (probably…maybe), if a certain rockstar playwright would just stop publishing hit play after hit play! How, exactly, does one get out from under the shadow of the great William Shakespeare?? If you’re Nick, the answer is to pay a cut-rate soothsayer to figure out what The Next Big Thing in Theatre is going to be…so you can beat Shakespeare at his own game!
The Color Purple, Village Theatre, Issaquah: 5/27/25-6/29/25; Everett: 7/5-27/25
With a soul-raising, Grammy Award-winning score infused with jazz, gospel, ragtime, and the blues, The Color Purple is a triumphant musical adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Alice Walker (and later, films). In the early 1900s in rural Georgia, teenage Celie is forced into an abusive marriage. Despite the anguishing circumstances she endures, she comes to discover her voice, find herself, and celebrate life. This stirring and inspiring show explodes with music, beauty, and hope.
Duel Reality, Seattle Rep, 5/29/25-6/22/25
The 7 Fingers returns with the Shakespeare-inspired Duel Reality. The Montagues vs. Capulets, two feuding families, face off in an epic competition of acrobatic talent and skill as the audience cheers them on. Through it all, a pair of star-crossed lovers defy death and their relations in their fight to be together. The 7 Fingers bring their signature combination of incredible physical feats, theatricality, and music together to tell this story of love and honor.
