Seattle’s Intiman Theatre formally announced their 2025-26 season this week and as expected from the versatile award winning theater company it includes a variety of works, including collaborations, residencies, musicals, drag, cabaret, solo works and full cast plays. Once again, Intiman will be based out of its Capitol Hill home at the Erickson Theater for most productions with the exception of their winter holiday co-production with The Hansberry Project, BLACK NATIVITY which will take place a block away at Broadway Performance Hall.
Their season will open in October with Lillian Hellman’s classic play, THE LITTLE FOXES, a co-production with The Feast (formerly known as The Williams Project). And, their 25/26 season will end in April of 2026 with THE FAINTING SPELLS, an adaptation of works by Anton Chekov and a co-productions with The Seagull Project. In between, there will be a variety of solo works, cabarets, comedy, and more.
And, their January full stage production will be the debut of a new rock musical in the style of “Hedwig & the Angry Inch”. SHe Said, written and performed by Jen Ayers and directed by Allison Narver and is inspired by Ayers’ own experiences when her spouse came out as transgender. The musical will feature an impressive all-star line-up of local musicians.

Intiman Theatre Unveils 52nd Season of “Distinctly Seattle” Works
SEATTLE, WA (June 9, 2024) — Intiman Theatre’s 2025-26 season features nine “Distinctly Seattle” productions, including the new musical SHe Said by local vocalist Jen Ayers, and the beloved holiday tradition Black Nativity. The Intiman Cabaret will return, offering a vibrant mix of locally-grown plays, drag, a new holiday show, comedy, musical acts, and more. New residencies for The Seagull Project and BeautyBoiz as well as partnerships with The Feast and The Hansberry Project will deliver a dynamic season—from gripping classic drama on the mainstage to genre-defying performances at the Cabaret.
“This season is a deliberate celebration of artistic risk, radical joy, and local community,” says Artistic Director Jennifer Zeyl. “From classic American drama to rock musicals, from drag revues to perimenopausal comedy—we invite you to see yourself in these stories, and to join us in a space where creativity thrives and everyone belongs.”
Mainstage productions include Lillian Hellman’s The Little Foxes, directed by Ryan Guzzo Purcell, and co-produced with The Feast (formerly The Williams Project). Staged in-the-round including select table seating with cocktail lounge service, enjoy an up-close experience of this story of greed, ambition, and betrayal in the American South. Black Nativity returns for its third year with director Valerie Curtis-Newton welcoming new cast members to the revival. In January, Jen Ayers’ transformational new musical SHe Said will play, directed by Allison Narver. Told in the style of Hedwig and the Angry Inch and inspired by her own family’s journey when her spouse comes out as transgender, the show features an all-star local rock band.
After a successful launch last season, the Intiman Cabaret returns, transforming the Erickson Theatre into a 21+ venue featuring table seating and cocktail lounge service. Six shows will play the Cabaret, including two new productions from BeautyBoiz, the Cabaret artists-in-residence. For the holidays, they will create The Naughty List, a sultry evening led by drag chanteuse Louvel. In the spring, they invite audiences to check back into Hotel Gatsby for a masquerade, directed by Ron Gatsby and featuring Purple Lemonade. The recently announced partnership with The Seagull Project will debut their first collaboration with Intiman: The Fainting Spells–three new adaptations of Chekov’s short comedies. Additional cabarets include Arnaldo! & Friends showcasing a different lineup of talent each night from the Pacific Northwest Cabaret Association. The rock show Mother Nature, The Farewell Tour from singer-songwriter Bhama Roget will unleash biting humor and raw truth in a heart-to-heart with humanity. Finally, dive into The Orca Show, a perimenopausal comedy that explores the parallels between aging women and one of nature’s fiercest matriarchs: the killer whale from Aysan Celik and directed by KJ Sanchez.
