Well, there’s always something changing over at Three Dollar Bill Cinema, Seattle’s LGBTQ+ film lovers non-profit. Budget and funding issues of late caused them to cancel both their longtime annual festivals this year. Translations, the annual transgender film festival which usually happens in May and the October week long Seattle LGBTQ Film Festival were both cancelled and combined into one very short festival that happened in July. Now they’ve just sprung on us an entirely new festival called STUFF, celebrating “stories by, for and about trans communities” to happen October 16th the 19th at Northwest Film Forum.
Kinda late notice for an event but…times are tough.
ADDED: this seems to be more of a Northwest Film Forum produced event than a Three Dollar Bill event so I’m gonna assume that they’ve just signed as promote the event produced by NW Film Forum. All the info is at the NW Film Forum site: https://nwfilmforum.org/festivals/seattle-trans-underground-film-festival-2025/
NOTE: masks are required for this festival!!!
MORE ADDED: Yeah…this is a totally new event from a new group, https://seattletransfilmfest.org/ who came together to put together a new transgender film festival for Seattle. So, give them all the credit and check out their website!

Seattle Trans Underground Film Festival is a film festival by and for trans people. The purpose of the festival is to support trans film and its production by connecting trans filmmakers to their audiences, and to celebrate trans lives by showing our stories through film. We program films by and about trans people across all genres, continuing a twenty-year history of annual transgender film festivals in Seattle.
Everyone is required to wear a mask (preferably KN95 or better) when not actively eating or drinking at all STUFF screenings.
Film Highlights include:
Dog Movie + Laugh Track (Thursday, Oct 16 | 7:15pm)
A comedic pairing of all-too-real films. Dog Movie follows a tenderqueer couple whose lives spiral when they adopt an elderly pitbull. Laugh Track is a short local comedy about our worst times.

Outside the Lines (Friday, Oct 17 | 7pm)
Get freaky with this night of animated, experimental, and shot-on-film works that defy expectations. Think Adult Swim, but more transgender.
Hot Blooded (Saturday, Oct 18 | 7:20pm)
Celebrate trans bodies in this visceral mix of horror and erotic shorts, where pleasure and pain collide in all their raw intensity.
