Rainbow City “Worlds We Create” Concert At Benaroya Hall Kicks Off 25/26 Season

November 1, 2025• byMichael Strangeways

It’s now settled into typical Seattle fall weather season which means we need to be enriched with great music opportunities…like Rainbow City Performing Arts upcoming November 7th concert at Benaroya Hall. This concert is themed WORLDS WE CREATE and they’re calling it “an evening exploring imagination through music inspired by film, literature and theater.” It’s the first concert of their 2025/2026 season under the umbrella theme of SOMEWHERE BEYOND with 2 more concerts to follow next year. It’s the 3rd year for Rainbow City to make their concert home at Benaroya Hall and they’re excited to continue their mission “to increase the visibility of LGBTQIA+ musicians and composers while also strengthening diversity, equity, and inclusion for all who join and support us.”

All three of this season’s concerts will celebrate those who have dared to dream of of beautiful worlds Somewhere Beyond. This season, you will “be transported into musical experiences that explore the uplifting power of film, literature, video games, and theater.” This spirit of imagining new possibilities is important to the Rainbow City Arts mission of nurturing the growth of hundreds of musicians in and around Seattle who create magical moments through the many unique musical programs provided by the non-profit.

As usual with their concerts, the Rainbow City Concert Band will take the stage for one act, then the Rainbow City Orchestra for the other half. You can also enjoy performances from two of Rainbow City’s chamber ensembles, with their flute choir, Flûtrange and their Seattle String Chorus performing in the lobby pre-show and at intermission.

They are also partnering up with three non-profit community organizations: Lambert House, GenPride, and Seattle’s LGBTQ Center. For the latter, they will be collecting donations for their Mutual Aid Closet to make sure folks have warm clothes as we head into the winter months.

Note that a number of free tickets are available to community members unable to afford tickets.

More on the chamber ensembles:

Flûtrange, our flute choir and oldest chamber ensemble, has performed at venues as various as the Seattle Flute Festival, the 5th Ave Theatre, and caroling on street corners. Their warm welcome to all skill levels has been a refuge for many and their performance continues to inspire.

Seattle String Chorus, one of our newest chamber groups, finds inspiration in performing choral works rearranged for strings. This flexibility allows for a focus on balance and beauty of the sound while welcoming any string players to join for a new way to perform and spread heart and soul in our community.

Also note there are two upcoming December concerts to check out featuring performances from Rainbow City, both at the Armory at Seattle Center.
