Don’t forget that Daylight Savings Time ends tonight at 2am (Sunday Morning). Fortunately, my cellphone automatically went to the new time a week ago! So that means an extra hour of drinking tonight as 2am becomes 1am.
Read #10 of the Washington Liquor Control Board FAQ:
10. What are the legal hours of sale or consumption by a licensed business?
ANSWER: 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., seven days a week.
EXCEPTION: When turning back the clock at the end of Daylight Savings Time, an extra hour is added making 2:00 a.m. Pacific Standard time the closing hour.
Don’t let the uninformed tell you different!
Every year, Neighbours Nightclub barks out last call and drink it up over 30 minutes before 2am, and only later, at 2am, they announce that drinking will continue as the clock gets set back to 1am. Don’t fall for it. I think the nightclub does themselves a disservice as I see so many people clearing out thinking that drinking time is over. I am not sure if they are trying be funny, trying to get people to finish off their drink in hand and buy another one or if they are required by law to do last call as normal and extend as the do.
Anyway enjoy the extra hour tonight because you will not get it again for another year!
