The Open Division of the Emerald City Softball Association (ECSA) is gearing up for its 2009 season and they have set up a “New Player Skills Clinic” on February 21st, 2009.
As a way to get to know each other, ESCA is holding a couple of skills clinics for new players. The skills clinic is a chance to hit, field, and catch a few softballs and meet teams that are looking for new players. Bringing a softball mitt and cleats (and warm clothes) is a great idea, but extra equipment should be available to borrow.
The first of the two scheduled skills clinics is set for Saturday, Feb. 21 from 11 am to 1pm at the Rainier Beach play fields, 8802 Rainier Ave. S. If it rains, they’ll try again the next day, Sunday, Feb. 22. Same place, same time.
Seattle gay softball is a great way to meet new people and enjoy spending time outdoors in an organized activity. They play games on Sunday with the season running from early-April through mid-July (including their playoff tournament) and the league is open to everyone: men and women, gay and non-gay.
While many of the new players are also relatively new to the game, the upper divisions of the league are great for experienced jocks looking for a place to play. So whatever your skill level, Seattle Gay Softball offers an opportunity for you to meet people, make new friends and have fun!
