Just when you think you’ve seen everything, the dinosaurs have returned.
Yesterday, I went to go see the opening of the Walking with Dinosaurs show now playing at the Key Arena in Seattle. Sure, I have seen those mechanical ones at the Pacific Science Center so I’m going in not quite sure what to expect. And would I be in for a surprise.
Almost every male child develops a fascination with dinosaurs and I am not any different. In fact, I even took a popular course on dinosaurs in Kane Hall while going to the U-Dub. Several times over the years I have seen those BBC videos of Walking with Dinosaurs that they occasionally show on PBS.
The show starts out when it all began, 230 millions years ago and for 97 minutes including a 20 minute intermission the handsome guide, who does not seem to have a British accent, takes the audience through the evolution of the dinosaurs. With 15 full size dinosaurs these monsters are impressive. Even their booming roars impressively echo throughout the arena. First thing I was thinking is that this show cost 15 million dollars to make and they are selling tickets for a low as $19.50.
The show is only in Seattle through Sunday and good tickets during the weekend are hard to get. So here is a trailer for the show. While the voice over on this trailer is kind of cheesy it does give you a pretty good idea of the grandness of this whole event:
