The Big Gay Musical on Thursday night was one of the best movies I have seen so far during Seattle’s Lesbian & Gay Film Festival. The feel-good movie itself was a well polished feature as it told the story of two Off-Broadway performers starring in a campy over-the-top gay musical about Adam and Steve. It’s funny and cute and even at times touching. The quality of gay comedies has really improved so much over the years.
After the campy religious themes of The Big Gay Musical what better place to move on to for an afterparty than Chapel Bar. This “Centerpiece Gala” was pretty good, even better, at least I thought, than the Opening Gala. The talented DJ Joy seemed to feel the crowd at chapel and set just the right vibe. Chapel supplied some hors d’oeuvres and a choice from three pre-selected speciality drinks. Ménage à Trois supplied the crowd with unlimited wine and The Confectional supplied the crowd with that were probably the tastiest little cheesecakes I have ever eaten.
Seattle’s Lesbian & Gay Film Festival conitinues through this weekend only until October 25th. For a list of movies this weekend check out our Gay Weekend Calendar.
