Leonard Nimoy died Friday at his home in Los Angeles from end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, his wife Susan Nimoy confirmed to the New York Times. He was 83.
Nimoy rose to fame as one of science fiction’s most beloved icons for his portrayal of Spock in the Star Trek franchise, as well as a role on FOX’s Fringe, and other small parts in various sci-fi works. His last tweet signed-off with his famous “Live long and prosper.”
