The 8th Annual Emerald City Comicon opens its doors tomorrow morning at 10am at the Washington State Convention Center, which means thousands of comic book/sci-fi/fantasy/horror fans will be taking to the streets of downtown Seattle for the weekend, either dressed in the sweats/ballcap/iconic character t-shirt combo OR poured into some sort of spandexy, pleathery, feathery, codpiecey type of outfit. You have been warned…If I was going to be town, I would definitely be heading to this. I’d interview Eric Gray (from “Buck Rogers”) and try to find out if she had a torrid affair with Gil Gerard on the set, and if so, discover intimate details of their passion and Gil’s (at that time) humpy, hairy body. Naturally, I’d have to hit up Nimoy, (who doesn’t love the Nimoy); sneer at Wil Wheaton, (everyone hates Wil Wheaton…or, at least the insufferable brat Wesley from ST:TNG); admire Ferrigno’s body and wind up at Thomas “Hung” Jane’s table to find out if “Hung” is fantasy or autobiography.
Oh, and why is this in Seattle Gay Scene? Uh, millions of LGBTQ community members are HUGE comic/scifi/fantasy fans and always have been. HULLO!?!?! Hot muscley men (and women) in tight, tight costumes! Sexy, sexy centaurs and vampires and werewolves and elves! What’s not to love?
Emerald City Comicon runs Saturday 10-6, and Sunday 10-5…oh, and most of the stars CHARGE for their autograph, so bring some dough! (I can understand why Erin Gray needs some cash, but Nimoy? He has more money than a Ferengi mortgage broker…
