PFLAG is introducing a periodic event series “PFLAG Presents” where they will engage the local community in dialogue about LGBT issues. Their inaugural event is scheduled for Wednesday, March 31st, 2010, from 7pm – 9pm in the Producer’s Club Lounge at The 5th Avenue Theatre (located below the theatre). This first event spotlights three out elected officials; Seattle City Council members Sally Clark and Tom Rasmussen, as well as Washington State Senator Joe McDermott, who represents the 34th Legislative District. The discussion will be moderated by Seattle Channel “City Inside/Out” host C.R. Douglas.
The conversation will feature their personal experiences as members of the LGBT community and how that affects their approach to politics and policy. Other topics will include: ideas on reducing hate crimes; promoting equality and workplace fairness; the future of our local LGBT community and ways to strengthen our collective goals.
Got something you want to say? Please join PFLAG for this exciting inaugural event – it’s sure to be an evening complete with thoughtful dialogue and renewed community connections.
Suggested donation for attendance: $15.
