Music City News: Danielli at The Mix in Georgetown; Rock Battle of the Bands at The Hard Rock

April 9, 2010• byMichael Strangeways

Yes, I’m blogging about my favorite local band again, Danielli. Yes, I am friends with them. Yes, they are really, really good. Yes, they have a gig in Georgetown at The Mix (6006 12th Ave S; around the corner from Fantagraphics Books). Yes, they go on at 9pm and the other bands are Bone Cave Ballet and By Sunlight. Yes, there is a $5 cover charge and it’s obviously 21+…If you would like to hear about MORE local bands that either feature LGBT musicians, are LGBT friendly or have large LGBT fanbases then LET ME KNOW about them…we would be very, very happy to feature/plug any and all local artists as long as have LGBT connections of some sort! Email us and let us know of any!

The OTHER local band in town that I like to promote, is Eighteen Individual Eyes and they are participating in Ambassadors of Rock: Battle of the Bands at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Seattle on Saturday, April 17; doors open at 8pm and the show starts at 9pm. Eighteen Individual Eyes is competing against two other local bands, Enkrya, and At the Spine for a chance of winning the opportunity to perform at the Hard Rock Calling in London on June 27/28. This is also a 21+ event and there is a $5 cover. Check both these events out.

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
