It’s the second Thursday of the month so it must mean it’s time for Blitz: The Capitol Hill Artwalk. It starts at 5pm and goes to 8pm and you can download a map from their website. And, be sure to check out the beautiful paintings by Jason Puccinelli at Vermillion, 1508 11th Avenue. He’s part of a three man show called Backdrop with fellow artists Jed Dunkerley and Curtis Taylor. This is what they have to say about Jason and his amazing avian paintings:
Jason Puccinelli masters the realism of the medium where the dialogue reveals itself in the background. Beautifully depicted birds distract the viewer from an event that is in progress, or is possibly going to happen: A loon appears to be cannibalizing an egg. Or is the baby chick simply hatching? Another bird majestically presents while an elephant slaughter takes place behind him. Two warblers seem enamored with each other in a world completely removed from the figure on top of the building behind them
Vermillion is hosting a reception for the artists tonight from 6pm to 9pm. Check out their art and have a drink, or three.
