Scott Kalina, a popular and well-loved member of Seattle’s LGBTQ community and Capitol Hill, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012. No other information has been released.

As the news made its way via sidewalk conversations and through social media late Saturday night and early Sunday morning, a shocked community left dozens of messages on Scott’s Facebook page.

We’re going to offer two heartfelt tributes to Scott:

my beautiful friend Scott Kalina, May you rest in peace. You brought joy wherever you went and now we are all left with sadness. My heart hurts. Know that you are loved and we are all better for having known you!. I love you sweet angel, I love you! Rest in Peace.——Mama Tits/Brian Daniel Peters
You & Me, we wanted it all. Passion without pain. Sunshine without rainy days. We wanted it always. You & Me, we reached for the sky, the limit was high. Never giving in. Certain we would win that prize…. I should have seen it in your eyes. Kisses to you Scott Kalina & your sparkling personality. I love you. RIP.——Robbie Turner
