The courtship of Swanilda and Franz has been interrupted by the appearance of Coppélia: a beautiful—but silent—girl, who sits on the workshop balcony of eccentric toymaker Doctor Coppelius. Franz is infatuated; Swanilda is not pleased. How does clever Swanilda learn the truth, turn the tables on her wayward lover, and live happily ever after?
