Visit Seattle has come up with a great promo for Seattle’s LGBTQ Pride Month celebrations with their #WeSEALove campaign. It kicks off June 1st and will showcase photos expressing Seattle LGBTQ Pride all month long at Instagram and an online gallery. And, of course, their Seattle LGBTQ Visitor’s Resource page is VERY helpful to folks visiting Seattle year round.
More skinny:
In a world where hate speech, divisiveness and actions that promote exclusion are taking over social media (oh, hi Roseanne – how’s that working out?) one city is proudly putting its stake in the ground as a city of inclusion. Seattle is sending a powerful message of love as the first US city to celebrate LGBTQ Pride all year long.
Kicking off tomorrow with the start of Pride Month (June 1), Visit Seattle will be collaborating with photographers, historical organizations and locals to post a new photo every day on both Instagram (@WeSEALove) and a visual online gallery (wesealove.com) for the next 365 days that celebrates the LGBTQ community and reinforces Seattle as a “force for good.” #WeSEALove will be a call to arms for likeminded people, who believe in the power of humanity, the dignity of the individual and the respect for all people and letting them know that Seattle is a uniquely progressive city with a spirit of welcoming for all.
According to Visit Seattle President and CEO Tom Norwalk, “People are making mindful choices in where they travel and do business. In a climate where business and visitors alike are met with unparalleled information, it is more important than ever to showcase and celebrate Seattle’s long history of inclusivity and support, which have been at the cornerstone of our success. We welcome all those, regardless of their background or where they come from, as Seattle is a community where everyone belongs.”
