Timothée Chalamet looks so cute in period clothes.

Yes, it’s the one billionth movie adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s LITTLE WOMEN, the heartwarming tale of 4 young sisters coming of age during the American Civil War but focused mostly on Alcott’s alter ego, the second oldest sister Jo who is vaguely tom boyish and long an icon of lesbian readers. 

This latest version is from Lady Bird director Greta Gerwig and stars that film’s leading lady Saoirse Ronan as Jo with Emma Watson as the older sister and Eliza Scanlen as the doomed one (ooops! Mid 19th century literary spoiler alert!!!!) and Florence Pugh as the bratty one.

Oh, and Meryl Streep is the bitchy old auntie.

Dreamy.

 

In Theaters This Christmas
Writer-director Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird) has crafted a Little Women that draws on both the classic novel and the writings of Louisa May Alcott, and unfolds as the author’s alter ego, Jo March, reflects back and forth on her fictional life. In Gerwig’s take, the beloved story of the March sisters – four young women each determined to live life on her own terms – is both timeless and timely. Portraying Jo, Meg, Amy, and Beth March, the film stars Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, with Timothée Chalamet as their neighbor Laurie, Laura Dern as Marmee, and Meryl Streep as Aunt March.
