Holmes and Watson, SecondStory Repertory, 11/1-17/24
A thrilling intellectual puzzle wrapped in a cloak of mystery, this play picks after the presumed death of Sherlock Holmes at Reichenbach Falls. Dr. Watson finds himself inundated with impostors claiming to be the world’s greatest detective. As Watson delves deeper into this perplexing situation, he is drawn into a labyrinth of deceit, where the lines between reality and illusion blur. Is Holmes truly dead? Or has he masterminded an elaborate hoax? Prepare to be challenged, entertained, and utterly captivated by this ingenious reimagining of the classic Sherlock Holmes saga.
Merchant of Venice: The Musical, Amaranth Turtle Stages, 11/1-10/24 (at Aspire Repertory Theatre, 11030 8th Ave NE, Seattle) (staged reading)
A bold reimagining of Shakespeare’s controversial play, as a musical. Merchant of Venice: The Musical takes place in 16th-century Venice. Bassanio wishes to woo heiress Portia. Antonio, his friend, wants to help Bassanio impress Portia with a display of wealth. Antonio makes a deal with Shylock, a Jewish moneylender, despite his distrust of the Jewish population. When Antonio is unable to pay back his loan, Shylock decides that it’s time to mistreat Antonio in the same way both he and his people have been mistreated for years. Local writers, Daniel Arthur, music, and Anna Tatelman, lyrics and book, collaborate.

The Marriage of Figaro, Theatre33, 11/2-23/24
One of the funniest comedies of all time! A single crazy day in the castle of Count Almaviva, whose household manages to weave a dizzying intrigue with weddings, courts, adoptions, jealousy and reconciliation. Figaro vows to trick the lustful count around, win Suzanne and not lose her dowry. In Russian with English subtitles.
Triple Fire Sign: Justin Huertas in Concert, Intiman Cabaret, 11/4-5/24 (at Erickson Theatre)
Justin Huertas returns to Seattle with a concert event created exclusively for the Intiman Cabaret. An out and proud Aries Sun/Leo Moon/Leo Rising and therefore doomed to a career creating egocentric performance art, Justin shares a fiery playlist of acoustic bops and bangers to boil the blood—including tunes from his next World Premiere musical! www.intiman.org
Tennessee Rising: The Dawn of Tennessee Williams, Intiman Cabaret, 11/8-10/24 (at Erickson Theatre)
Writer/Performer Jacob Storms sheds light on the unexplored early years of young playwright, Tennessee Williams. The world is on the brink of World War II and a young gay writer named Tom has finally escaped his family home only to be confronted with the harsh realities of life. He creates a new character for himself to play, Tennessee Williams, and begins to meet the people in his life who will inspire his most iconic characters. If you thought you knew Tennessee Williams, think again!
Legally Blonde, Village Theatre, Issaquah: 11/12/24-12/22/24, Everett: ¼-26/25
Don’t judge a blonde by her cover! Elle Woods appears to have it all. But her life is turned upside down when her boyfriend dumps her so he can attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle ingeniously charms her way into the prestigious law school, and soon she discovers — and proves to the world — the power of being legally blonde. Indian School, On The Boards, 11/14-16/24
Timothy White Eagle, a Seattle-based visual and performance artist returns to OtB to present a deeply personal performance about displacement and identity, tracing the impact of America’s history of cultural genocide. Through it, he confronts trauma, celebrates resilience, and emphasizes the importance of reclaiming Indigenous experiences.
Snowed In (Again), ArtsWest, 11/21/24-12/22/24
This is actually a sequel to last year’s holiday offering, Snowed In. Four of Seattle’s hottest musical theater stars go on a cozy retreat to write the most perfect holiday show the world has ever seen. But when a blizzard hits, tensions rise and the crumpled-up notebook pages begin to pile up even faster than the snow. What could possibly go wrong?
Mary Poppins, 5th Avenue Theatre, 11/22/24-12/22/24
With a spoon full of sugar, Mary Poppins flies across the stage with the precocious Banks children in tow. Miracle on 34th Street, Edmond’s Driftwood Players, 11/22/24-12/15/24
Kris Kringle, an old man in a retirement home, gets a job working as Santa for Macy’s. Kris unleashes waves of good will with Macy’s customers and the commercial world of New York City by referring parents to other stores to find exactly the toy their child has asked for. Seen as deluded and dangerous by Macy’s vocational counselor, Kris ends up in a court competency hearing. In a dramatic decision, the court confirms Kris as the true Santa, allowing countless children to experience the joy of childhood fantasy.

Sitting in Circles with Rich White Girls: Memoir of a Bulimic Black Boy, Chad Goller-Sojourner, 11/22-24/24 (at Rainier Arts Center, 3515 S. Alaska)
An updated memoir after a 16-year absence from stage! A quiet home with no relations… that’s what Wooster’s looking forward to this Christmas, until longtime chum Bingo calls in a favor to help with romance, and nephew-crushing Aunt Agatha drops in, leaving her charge in his hands. Wooster’s famous family code of never disappointing a chum is put to the test as Jeeves sets out to author a new plan of etiquette and romance.

The Night Before the Night Before Christmas, Phoenix Theatre, 11/29/24-12/22/24
PNW playwright Cricket Daniel introduces Lou who has wrestled with a big ball of tangled Christmas lights for the last time! He is grabbing the sunblock, his Elvis in Paradise album, and his wife Carol, and he is hopping on the Pineapple Express! He plans to escape the freezing cold of New Jersey, his nutty family, and most of all… the holidays. However, a freak snow storm leaves the couple stranded at the airport and their dream of sipping pina coladas on the beach is in peril. Will a couple of unexpected characters help restore Lou’s Christmas Spirit in the… St. Nick… of time!?
