Leslie and the Ly’s is a satirical rap group fronted by Leslie Hall also known as Mother Gem by her fans. The fans are referred to as Junior Gems. Leslie was thrust into iconic status through the massive online popularity of her large collection of gem-laden sweaters and one particular pair of gold pants. From that popularity she formed a group in 2005 and toured the world promoting her first album, Gold Pants. Her popularity grew so much that VH1 called her one of the 40 Greatest Internet Superstars.

This is a show not to be missed as it is selling out around the country including cities such as Boston, NYC, Montreal, Toronto and Washington DC: all sellouts. This is an all ages show which is a great thing. Like it or not the kids bring a certain enthusiasm that us jaded old people do not have. It will feature Seattle favorites Team Gina performing material from their new album not due out until May or June.
This show is produced by the creators of Hotmess, who brought us that excellent show at Fremont’s Nectar Lounge featuring Hey Willpower and MEN.
On Tuesday March 11, 2008 they bring Leslie and the Ly’s to Neumos. The live show will also feature special appearances by Guerrilla Go Go’s Josh & Ben along with DJ’s LA Kendall and Colby B. Doors open at 8 pm.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
