REVIEW: How? How? Why? Why? Why?
For 90 straight minutes, National Public Radio commentator of All Things Considered, and renowned humorist Kevin Kling is your storyteller in Seattle Repertory Theatre’s performance of How? How? Why? Why? Why?
In 2001, three weeks before he was set to perform at the Seattle Rep, he was involved in a catastrophic motorcycle accident which completely changed his perspective on life. Six years later, Kevin Kling finally comes to Seattle to complete his commitment and appear in the World Premiere of this show.
His vivid stories of growing up in Minnesota as a farm boy and his recounting of his accident are both captivating and many times funny, in a way only a Minnesotan could be. The performance is infused with incredibly whimsical anecdotes from throughout his life.
Kling soon realized about life:.
When it comes time to sell your soul, it’s a buyer’s market.

Accordionist and singer Simone Perrin is extremely talented and performs some contemporary and entertaining renditions of a few classic songs. And while Kling’s stories are both interesting and comical you begin to wonder where he is going with his narration, until at the end, you arrive. You are left with the feeling of inspiration and enthusiasm about life that Kling himself eventually came to appreciate. This will be a show unlike you have probably ever seen based on his book Kevin Kling the Dog Says How.
Performances of How? How? Why? Why? Why? are scheduled from March 13 to April 19, 2008. Tickets range from $26-$40 and can be purchased by calling the box office at (206) 443-2222 or online at www.seattlerep.org.
