Forecasters are predicting potentially record breaking heat this weekend starting later today and ending on Sunday. It is expected to heat up to 75 degrees by 5 pm today. Friday and Saturday could see temperatures of 85 or higher. The record for May 16 (Friday) is 84 degrees in 1985 and May 17 (Saturday) is 85 degrees in 1956. If it gets up to 90 degrees it will be the earliest 90 degree day in history for Seattle (Somehow I think they are not going back far enough).
They are telling people to be very cautious on Friday and Saturday. Slow down a bit and drink plenty of liquids! The young and elderly should be particularly vigilant and seek cool shelter.
Temperatures will remain in the 70’s for Sunday but it is expected to cool off next week and be back to the low 60’s and rainy by next weekend so enjoy it!
I think many may be catching the Seattle’s infamous sunny day flu bug tomorrow. It sounds like a trip is in order to Madison Park Beach, Seattle’s perennial, albeit unofficial gay beach. The beach area located to the left of the restrooms has been gay for decades.
I think there has been enforcement around Seattle’s gay nude beaches such as the beach north of Carkeek Park and near Edmonds since one person complained (all it takes is one person complaining). Plus accessing those beaches is very dangerous and considered trespassing because you must travel along BNR’s railroad tracks.
But who could forget this story from a couple of years ago about the area that has been frequented by gay nude sun bathers since the 1930’s?
