Drag Queens vs. The Dykes.
Saturday, June 14 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Cal Anderson Park – Bobby Morris Play Field.
Bat-N-Rouge is a queer softball event that pitches The Drag Queens against The Dykes for nine innings of non-stop fun!
Bat N’ Rouge is a fundraising event to benefit Capitol Hill Alano Club. Finally, a sporting event where you can bribe the officials to benefit your favorite team! Every other inning the umpire opens his (or is it her?) pockets to accept bribes from you, the spectator. While some “vanilla” people throw down cash to buy runs or outs, other more inventive people pay to have one of their favorite team’s opponent run the bases backward, or crawl all the way home. If you have the cold, hard cash, almost anything goes in this wild game.
In case you missed it last year, a fan of the Drag Queen team paid to demoralize the Dyke team by forcing them to finish the game wearing –ugh– lipstick. In retaliation, while the crowd walked about during the seventh inning stretch, the Dyke team raided the Drag Queens’ dug-out and dragged them onto the field for an impromptu wrestling match.
The 10th Annual Bat-N-Rouge Softball Extravaganza happens Saturday, June 14th, 2008 at the Bobby Morris Playing Field at Cal Anderson Park
Tickets are a $5 suggested donation. Gates Open at 4:00 pm the game begins at 5:00 pm.
Bring $$$ for Bribes, Concessions and T-Shirts because it is for a good cause: Bat-N-Rouge benefits the Capitol Hill Alano Club, which serves the 12-step recovery needs of the Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual and Transgendered community in the greater Seattle area.
