IT’S HERE! Seattle Pride Day 2011 and here’s the calendar for today…see ya at the Parade!

After weeks, if not months of talking and writing about it, the Big Day has arrived, Seattle Pride Day 2011! As I type this, the Pride Flag is being raised at the Space Needle, after weeks of hoo-hah, and hundreds of volunteers are setting up for the Parade, which starts at 11am, and for Seattle PrideFest at Seattle Center, and the bars of Capitol Hill are readying for the final onslaught of beer garden/street party visitors.

Look for us in the Parade, (Les and I are marching with our friends at Three Dollar Bill Cinema/Orbitz and we’re early in the Parade; number 16) and publisher Bill is hanging out with his family along the route…look for us! We’ll be bopping around Seattle Center for PrideFest (definitely checking out Ethel Merman’s performance at 1:23pm at the Main Stage) and eventually heading over to check out the big Pride Tea Dance Party, Rebound at iMUSIC Center across the street from EMP on 5th Avenue with DJ Steven Oliveri and popping into The Funhouse just down the street for their “So Gay!” Party with Glitterbang and Noddy.

And, be safe…there was a tragic accident at an Alaskan Pride event this weekend during their Parade, so be careful walking the streets. Crowds+Traffic=Potential Danger. Oh, and drinkers, make sure you have someone to drive you home who’s not drinking or take pubic transit!
